I’ve been noticed that the service book option has been removed by RIM….Still don’t know what is actually the purpose of doing that.You should not be panic on this situasion.Just do the Hard reset and service book automatyicly will be sent by default…

Environment

Problem

After installing BlackBerry Media Sync while the BlackBerry Storm smartphone is connected to the computer, BlackBerry Media Sync opens, but displays an error stating that it cannot connect to the BlackBerry smartphone.

Resolution

This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.

Workaround

Disconnect the BlackBerry smartphone from the computer, restart the computer, and try again.

Blackberry Storm 9530 not supported for ASIA PACIFIC (Malaysia)..Do not Buy or you will regret it..I’ve been tested a few devices and the result was not so good.please Make sure the Blackberry Model before buying .Make Sure the Model IS A STORM 9500 only.We might be getting the CDMA BlackBerry Storm 9530 with GSM worldphone abilities on Verizon at the States only, but the rest of the world doesn’t need both of those radios, and now we have confirmation of the GSM-only BlackBerry 9500.

For BES Plan Make sure of this, even though the setting is Default.

BES Configuration.

If you are at a company and you are on a BES 4.0, your Administrator must enable the “” setting on the BES. This is a new setting in the Version 4.0 of BES. BlackBerry IPModem

Set the enable IP Modem IT Policy to False under the Security Policy Group in the IT Policy menu.

  1. Open BlackBerry Manager by navigating to Start > All Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server > BlackBerry Manager.
  2. On the left-hand side, click on BlackBerry Domain.
  3. On the right-hand side, click on the Global tab.
  4. Click Edit Properties.
  5. On the left-hand side, click on IT Policy.
  6. On the right-hand side, click on IT Policies.
  7. Click the button to open a new dialog box.
  8. Select the appropriate IT Policy and click Properties.
  9. On the left-hand side, select the Security Policy Group.
  10. On the right-hand side, select Enable IP Modem.
  11. Set to False to turn on the IP Modem functionality on the BlackBerry smartphones assigned to this IT Policy.

Please navigate to the location on the device where the file is stored (Media Icon > menu key > Explore > Device Memory > home > user > documents) and attempt to open the file

Also check the application permissions in Options > Advanced Options > Applications > Documents To Go > menu key > Edit Permissions and make sure the permissions are set to “allow”

Not enough storage space to perform this action. Please free up some space and try again.

Solution:

This issue is not caused by Documents To Go, but is usually easy to solve. The problem happens when the hand held does not have enough free internal Device Memory for Documents To Go to function properly. Documents To Go needs to write temporary data to the internal Device Memory even when editing a file on an external media card. If there is not enough internal Device Memory for the temporary data, the above error message will appear.

That message can be confusing because there is a different measurement of free space called “File Free” in the Options application under Status. The File Free field shows the total amount of available device memory, but only some of that memory can be used for file storage. The amount of memory allocated for file storage is determined by a setting called “Device Memory Limit”. For example, if the File Free field shows 23 MB of available memory, but the Device Memory Limit is set to 5 MB, you will only be able to use 5 MB to store files (such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files). The Device Memory Limit can be increased in order to solve this problem.

To check the available device memory and raise the Device Memory Limit, follow the steps below:

STEP 1: Check the available internal Device Memory:

  1. Open the Media application on the BlackBerry.
  2. Press the Menu button and choose Explore.

4.In the dialog that appears, check the percentage of used device memory (under the small pie chart).

If the used device memory is close to 100%, there may not be enough left for Documents To Go to write temporary data, resulting in the error message. To fix this, try increasing the Device Memory Limit on the BlackBerry by following the steps below:

STEP 2: Increase the Device Memory Limit:

  1. Open the Media application on the BlackBerry.
  2. Press the Menu button and choose Options.

3.Select the current Device Memory Limit setting and choose a larger size.

  1. Press the Back button, and choose to Save the changes.

After increasing the Device Memory Limit, you should see a lower percentage of used memory if you go back to check the Device Memory Properties.

If the Device Memory Limit is already set to the maximum size but you still get the error when trying to use Documents To Go, you will need to clear up some memory. You can remove extra languages installed on the device, or move your pictures, music, and/or other files to an external media card. I recommend having at least a couple hundred KB free on the Device Memory.

HTTP Error 413 – Request entity too large

Introduction

Your Web server thinks that the HTTP data stream sent by the client (e.g. Web browser ) was simply too large i.e. too many bytes. What constitutes ‘too many bytes’ depends partly upon the operation being attempted. For example a request to upload a very large file (via the HTTP PUT method) may encounter a ceiling on upload file size set by the Web server.

413 errors in the HTTP cycle

Any client goes through the following cycle:

  • Obtain an IP address from the IP name of your site (your site URL without the leading ‘http://’). This lookup (conversion of IP name to IP address) is provided by domain name servers (DNSs).
  • Open an IP socket connection to that IP address.
  • Write an HTTP data stream through that socket.
  • Receive an HTTP data stream back from your Web server in response. This data stream contains status codes whose values are determined by the HTTP protocol. Parse this data stream for status codes and other useful information.

This error occurs in the final step above when the client receive an HTTP status code that it recognises as ‘413’.

Resolving 413 errors – general

This error seldom occurs in most Web traffic, particularly when the client system is a Web browser. The problem can only be resolved by examining what your client system is trying to do then discussing with your ISP why the Web server rejects the number of bytes sent by the client system.

Can’t send MMS

You need to Re-send a service book and after that you would be able to send a MMS.

and if you get this error :

“UNCAUGHT EXCEPTION JAVA LANG.NULL.PUINTER.EXCEPTION”

if this thing happen to, you just need to wipe handheld 1st or re-installed the Blackberry Software Version

When the Blackberry Internet Service connects to an integrated account (this occurs once every 15 minutes), it takes a snapshot of the entire inbox. Generally, if the integrated account’s message count is greater than 900 messages, the Blackberry Internet Service will time out
and no new mail will be brought over to the smartphone.
However, messages may still arrive on the smartphone if the Blackberry Internet Service can take the snapshot of the entire inbox quickly enough.

To resolve the issue, please move some older messages into a subfolder so that the Blackberry Internet Service can connect successfully with the integrated account.

How to manage your emails form device with email server.

Reconciliation will allowed you to (delete/manage) manage emails form device itself.

Select the Messages Icon

Select Options and select email account

choose Prompt as default

So,when every time you would like to delete emails,

it will give you an option whether delete only at handheld or both at email server

And after that select “Reconcile Now” to confirm the option

Have you ever got this problem? it is because the operating system is corrupted or has failed.

***Performing a hard reset does not resolve this issues forever.What you need to do:

Download the appropriate Blackberry Device Software for your Blackberry device and use the application loader tool to reload it.

To perform this procedure, follow the steps below:

1) Remove the battery from the Blackberry device.

2) Double-click Application Loader in Blackberry Desktop Manager while the Blackberry device is not connected to the computer.

3) Click Next on the Welcome to the Application Loader Wizard screen.please refer link

4) When the Communication Port Selection screen appears, connect the Blackberry device.

5) When the USB-PIN option appears, click Next. The Device Application Selection screen should appear.

6) Re-insert the battery and allow the process to complete.

  1. The Blackberry Desktop Redirector cannot run and no messages will be forwarded to your handheld. Your desktop computer / outlook must be on any time you want to receive messages on your handheld.
  2. If the Blackberry Desktop Redirector is not running, no E-mail messages will be forwarded to your handheld. Look for the Blackberry Desktop Redirector icon in the Windows System Tray on your PC. If it is there, the Blackberry Desktop Redirector is running. If it is not there, open the Blackberry Desktop Redirector by selecting Redirector from the Blackberry program group under Program Files in the Windows Start menu
  3. If you have the handheld in the cradle and you selected the option not to forward messages when the handheld is in the cradle, you will not receive any messages on your handheld. Take the handheld out of the cradle to find out if the messages are forwarding properly
  4. Have you created Microsoft Exchange Inbox assistant rules? If you have set up Inbox Assistant rules that move new messages from the inbox to another folder, they will not be forwarded to your handheld because the Inbox assistant moves them before the Blackberry Desktop Redirector can forward them. Once you delete the Inbox assistant rule, new messages should forward to your handheld. See your Microsoft Exchange documentation for more information .
  5. Have you set filter rules? If you have added some filters in the Redirector Configuration settings, you may have instructed Blackberry Desktop Software to send only certain messages to your handheld. Check the filters to make sure the messages you want to receive are being forwardbox assistant.
