BlackBerry 7270 and other BlackBerry

The BlackBerry 7270 smartphone differs from other BlackBerry smartphones, including BlackBerry smartphones enabled with Wi-Fi® technology, in that it only operates on a wireless local area network (WLAN) and not a mobile network. Other BlackBerry smartphones enabled with Wi-Fi technology have the capacity to operate on both a WLAN and a mobile network. Some of the major differences are outlined below.

No PIN-to-PIN messaging

No SMS Messaging

No SIM Card

No BlackBerry Internet Service

IP telephony

The BlackBerry 7270 smartphone supports Session Initiated Protocol (SIP)-based Internet Protocol (IP) telephony. Other BlackBerry smartphones do not have a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) client
